Kathy is a wonderful, caring and extremely qualified tutor. But she is also more than that. She really looks at the whole individual and is compassionate, resourceful, and extremely dedicated to her students. She wants them to succeed, but she also wants them to learn the necessary skills needed for them to be successful in the future. My son attended college away from home and when I first talked to Kathy, I knew she would be the right person to help him with his academics in this transition year. Josh struggles most in reading comprehension and writing assignments. He always felt very comfortable with Kathy and enjoyed working with her. She helped organize him so he could get a handle on his assignments and prioritize what needed to be done. She broke tasks down for him so it became manageable chunks. She was flexible beyond belief, because my son is not a planner and would sometimes call her at the last minute. She never refused him, she always tried to get him back on track if he got distracted with events on campus. I came to trust her and rely on her judgement and evaluation of situations. I knew she really understood my son and took the time to get to know him. I have never met Kathy but I believe she must be a saint. I know I don't have the patience that she does! She was wonderful about communicating with me, by phone or email, if she felt I should be informed about anything, or if she wanted to know something particular to Josh's learning style. Unfortunately I did not take the time to rate each of the over 40 hours she worked with Josh, or she would have a lot more stars and reports. That's my fault. But she could easily qualify as one of those tutors with over +40 hours and 5.0 rating from her time with Josh alone! I can't recommend her enough. I don't think there is a more decent human being out there, and I know as a tutor, she can't be beat!!! Thank you Kathy for helping him get through his freshman year.
